Our client is seeking a Key Account Executive to work within its existing team based in Leeds, who will play a proactive role in maintaining and developing profitable business in line with the company’s growth plans.
You will play an integral role in contributing to the success of this branch by supporting the Key Account Managers with the service and delivery of brokers’ Strategic Partner Plans. You will ensure that the branch’s overall profit and income is maximised, as well as being responsible for developing individual accounts on a daily basis.
You will need to gain a deep understanding of your broker panels’ appetite for certain business. Forging and developing strong relationships with your panel, you will use your well honed investigative and influencing skills to identify lucrative new business opportunities and retain key accounts. Although you will not be holding any underwriting authority, you will work closely with the technical underwriting team, therefore, some knowledge of the underwriting process would be advantageous. Your role will be split 50/50 between internal duties and external broker visits.
It is vital that you have a good understanding of the local commercial insurance market, together with established contacts within the broker community. You will also need advanced sales and negotiation skills, ideally gained from within a similar broker facing role.
